Anvil Relays ‘Message from Earth’October 19, 2010Anvil Knitwear, New York, recently premiered a digital short video designed to educate consumers about the impact of pesticides on the environment and farmers, as well as to encourage consumers to support organic farmers. The premiere of the video, called “Message from Earth: Organic Matters,” occurred at Farm Aid 25: Growing Hope for America concert at Miller Park in Milwaukee as part of Anvil’s event sponsorship. The video short is the company’s latest initiative to reach both farmers and consumers, and educate them on the benefits of organic farming, says Anthony Corsano, CEO, Anvil. “As the largest buyer of U.S.-grown organic cotton, Anvil has made a commitment to double the amount of organic cotton acreage in the United States,” he says. “We believe that if farmers and consumers alike understand the impact of organic farming practices, they will make better choices. In 2008, the company launched TrackMyT.com, an interactive website that chronicles the journey and environmental impact of a T-shirt from cottonseed to consumer, allowing users to interact with the farmers behind Anvil’s products. As part of its Farm Aid 25 sponsorship, Anvil also provided event T-shirts. The designs were printed on shirts from the company’s AnvilOrganic line.
