Brother Introduces Six New Products, DatabaseMay 24, 2010
The newest multifunction sewing machine, the NX-2000, established a relationship between Brother and Laura Ashley, Inc. The NX-2000 contains built-in stitches reminiscent of the Laura Ashley motif and is decorated with signature Laura Ashley designs. It contains an industry-best total of 430 built-in stitches. Brother also debuted the LB6800PRW — the first ‘Project Runway’ Limited Edition computerized sewing and embroidery machine. The model includes 67 built-in sewing stitches, 98 stitch functions, 70 built-in embroidery designs, 120 frame pattern combinations and five embroidery lettering fonts, along with computer connectivity, a built-in push-button thread cutter, advanced needle threading system and a back-lit LCD touch screen. Along with those two, Brother introduced the Innov-ís 950D, which includes features from the Innov-ís 900D, as well as a USB port to download designs directly from a USB memory stick. It also has 35 built-in embroidery designs featuring Disney/Pixar® characters, 62 decorative stitches, Brother’s My Custom Stitch feature, three sewing fonts with spacing adjustment and one monogramming font. The last of the debuted machines was the Innov-ís 1250D sewing and embroidery machine. The features on the 1250D include 35 built-in Disney designs, a 5’’ x 7’’ embroidery hoop and a monochrome LCD screen. It is also USB ready, allowing the user to download designs straight from a USB memory stick. Along with its machines, Brother also presented its newest software and workstation. The ELS Embroidery Lettering Software offers editing options for lettering and monogramming, using a click and type feature. It also includes built-in recipes to set the parameters of a design and a built-in selection of hoops for machine formats in sizes up to 5’’ x 7’’. The Horn of America Work Table was the last of the Brother products released at VDTA. The workstation, built for the Brother Entreprenuer PR-650 and PR-series of machines, is equipped with two drawers and adjustable shelves. It also has a fold-up extension table and four twin wheels with locking front casters. Brother also demonstrated the capabilities of its new online database, iBroidery, at the trade show show but did not release it until later. iBroidery allows Brother customers to purchase over 4,000 embroidery designs, including Disney/Pixar, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros. and DC Comics images. It will also offer limited edition and retired deigns. For more information, visit brother.com. — Samantha Calvert RECENT HEADLINES
