Charles River Named Finalist in Mass. Family Business Awards

Charles River Apparel, Sharon, Mass., recently was selected as a finalist in the “Mid-Size Business” category for the Massachusetts Family Business of the Year Awards.

The awards are given annually by the Family Business Association Inc., an independent, non-profit organization that was created to honor and promote Massachusetts family businesses and their achievements. Charles River Apparel was founded in 1983 by Walter Lipsett, and is now run by his son, Barry Lipsett. Four generations of the Lipsett family are currently involved in the company.

Charles River Apparel was selected as one of 16 finalists from more than 200 nominations. Award winners will be announced during an Oct. 15 ceremony at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, Mass.
