Digital Art Solutions Debuts DTG System

September 28, 2009

The Smart Garment Printing System from Digital Art Solutions
Digital Art Solutions has introduced The Smart Garment Printing System — a direct-to-garment (DTG) Digital Art's ASSET concept. That acronym stands for Artwork, Software, Support, Equipment, Training equals Success.

Digital Art Solutions is an industry-leading producer of production-ready digital art and add-on graphics software. It has applied this expertise to provide a complete solution built around the Smart Garment Printer, which uses a new generation of Epson printer technology. The Smart Garment Printer is fast, compact and simple to operate, according to the company, and has a large (14.2" x 18.3") printable area. According to DAS, the printer sets a new standard for ease-of-use and low maintenance. It is sold with new Smart Garment RIP software, Digital Art Solutions art volumes and Smart Designer graphics software. The company says the bundled system has raised the bar for value and performance and that each installed system is backed by a comprehensive training and support program.

The bundled system components include Smart Garment Printer based on proven Epson technology, Sawgrass Naturalink Dual CMYK ink carts (which produce bright, wash-fast images with high print yields), Smart Garment RIP Software developed by CADlink Technology, a patent-pending loading platform that requires no height adjustment and the ability to load garments away from the machine for improved workflow and productivity. The bundled systems also include Smart Designer graphics that integrate with the CorelDRAW Graphics suite to streamline artwork creation and output, Digital Art Solutions' Art Volumes (industry-leading graphics collections), as well as comprehensive support and training for all aspects of the system.

One option that can be added to the system is a Stone Stencil Rhinestone Heat Transfer System to combines rhinestones with DTG prints.

“In the business since the beginning, we recognize the need for a simple, profitable solution for DTG printing," says, Digital Art Solutions president and CEO Craig Mertens. “Because we sell graphics and software to DTG owners, we have seen the struggles that DTG printer owner experience. We developed this system to ensure that our clients succeed in the DTG business. The biggest mistake DTG buyers can make is just focusing on the printer. A printer won't turn a profit without a simple, cost-effective way to produce graphics. We know that just having our great new printer is not enough to ensure our client’s success, which is why we built a complete system with artwork, software, support, equipment and training."
