Eskimo Joe’s Enters Hanes’ T-Shirt Hall of FameAugust 26, 2010
The Hall of Fame is located at the Hanesbrands corporate headquarters and recognizes screen printers, distributors and others within the decorated apparel industry. Stan Clark, Eskimo Joe’s co-founder, was presented on July 24 with the inaugural Hanes Beefy-T T-shirt Hall of Fame award during the restaurant’s anniversary party. Coincidentally, Hanes also recently celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Beefy-T. “Eskimo Joe’s and Hanes Beefy-T have literally grown up together, and what a great partnership it has been,” says Marion Plumb, vice president of sales, Hanesbrands Imagewear. “Today, Eskimo Joe’s is known worldwide for its cool and creative promotional apparel, including the highly sought-after Eskimo Joe’s T-shirt, which, of course, is printed on a Hanes Beefy-T T-shirt.” Clark estimates that Eskimo Joe’s has sold more than 500,000 Hanes Beefy-T T-shirts per year during the past 20 years. The Tulsa World once recognized Eskimo Joe’s as having one of the world’s most collectible T-shirts, ranking it along with Hard Rock Cafes in London and New York. The Eskimo Joe’s T-shirts have been spotted from the Red Square in Moscow to the Great Wall of China. Hanes plans to induct two other companies into the Hanes Beefy-T Hall of Fame this fall, and will have a formal recognition event for all inductees during ISS Long Beach in January 2011.
