Inkcups Now Debuts Plates for Tagless Label PrintingJuly 02, 2010
The company uses the Cobalt 1000 laser system to etch laser plates directly from customers’ digital files, providing precision, depth and halftone control, as well as 100% repeatability of the plate’s etch. The plates can render tags printed with a variety of graphics and fonts as small as 4 points. Specifically developed for precision etching and long production runs, the patented laser plates are etched in-house — within five to 15 minutes — or at Inkcups Now facilities in United States, Canada or Central America within one to two business days. The plates provide tagless garment manufacturers the freedom to change neck label graphics on demand, eliminating the normal two- to four-week lead time and high inventory costs associated with heat transfer labels, according to the company.
