Intl. Coatings Introduces Centris Non-Phthalate InksMay 19, 2010Intl. Coatings Co., Cerritos, Calif., recently launched its Centris line of non-phthalate textile screen printing inks, which print like conventional plastisol inks, but are formulated with non-phthalate plasticizers, according to the company. Centris inks meet major United States and international regulatory standards for phthalates, metals and other restricted substances. "We made a commitment some time ago to convert more of our product line to eco-friendlier products," says Steve Kahane, president, Intl. Coatings. "Centris is the latest step for us in that direction." Centris inks are press-ready and can be used on 100% cotton and cotton/polyester blend fabrics. The initial Centris product offering will include: whites and low-bleed whites, PMS color matching system, specialty and special-effects inks, metallic shimmers, soft-hand enhancers, foil and foil-resist adhesive, nylon inks, and additives and reducers, according to the company.
