Roland Introduces HeatSoft Garment Transfer Material

January 25, 2010

Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, Calif., has expanded its R-Wear line of custom apparel solutions with HeatSoft, a new, improved heat transfer solution for the apparel decoration market.

The HeatSoft solution combines ESM-HTM2 heat transfer media with PGM-PTM polyester transfer mask to deliver color, details and bonding with cotton and cotton-blend garments. The HTM solution has been specifically developed for Roland’s ECO-SOL MAX ink and is supported by Roland VersaCAMM, VersaArt and SOLJET eco-solvent inkjets, according to the company.

The garment transfer material is an inkjet coated, synthetic fabric transfer material for high-resolution full-color printing with excellent opacity and white point characteristics, according to the company. The media can be printed, cut and transferred to light or dark cotton, as well as cotton-blend garments, and the new material is designed to conform to complex areas of a garment without altering its original fit.

The HeatSoft solution also includes a 3mL polyester transfer mask with specially formulated heat-resistant adhesive. The product has low-to-medium tack and is designed to lift the graphic from its liner without removing the ink from the printed surface. Rigid construction allows the new transfer mask to handle large graphic without any distortion, according to the company.

The combined HeatSoft is priced at $2.06 per square foot, including both the transfer media and the mask. It is available through Roland authorized dealers and can be ordered at rolanddgastore.com. – J.L.
