Vastex Debuts New Registration SystemFebruary 08, 2011
Dubbed Vastex Registration System (VRS), it allows pre-press staff to register screens in three steps: 1) attach positives to setup sheets in register using a pin board, 2) attach positives to screens in register using the pin board screen stops, and 3) burn all screens on any exposure unit in register. Corresponding screen stops on a "pallet jig" enable press operators to locate screens onto any rear clamp press with all colors in register, in one to three minutes per screen, according to the company. In addition to reducing registration time, the system is said to improve registration accuracy, while reducing rejects and creating a shop registration standard. Additionally, it accommodates any type and size of screen. Systems for manual presses work with any exposing unit and any rear clamp manual press, and systems for automatic presses work with any exposing unit and many automatic presses.
